Just read an interview with Jeff Bridges. First thing that struck me was that he’s got a great work philosophy - try to do as little of it as possible. He turns down most of the roles that come to him. Second thing - when he leaves the house in the morning, his wife, Susan, always tells him: “Remember to have fun.” Very smart. Then as I’m reading this interview he starts talking about marriage. He used to call marriage a ‘giant step towards death’ and had a ‘Marital Death Theory’ but that was before he got hitched. 32 years later he’s still married, with three kids. What’s the secret?

JB: Not getting a divorce. If you’re married you’ll have tough times and you draw a line, then if your partner crosses that line you say: ‘Well is that it?’ or: ‘Am I going to enlarge my concept of what love is?”
